Opportunity Council - SK Recruitment Coordinator VISTA

Skookum Kids is building resilient communities where children experiencing foster care can thrive. Skookum licenses foster parents, places kids in loving homes, cares for kids at our emergency shelter in Northwest Washington, and supports families rebuilding after time apart. Most of the families Skookum Kids serves come from marginalized communities. Poverty can be a contributing factor to a family coming into contact with the foster care system, exacerbating difficulties they may be experiencing. And there typically isn't much support available to families who have done the hard work and come through the foster system, and Skookum Kids is here to change that. Our programs at Skookum work together to make sure kids are safe, taken care of by healthy adults, and that they know how loved and valuable they are while their lives are turned upside down. Member Duties : As a Skookum Kids VISTA, you'll work on volunteer recruitment and support, community partnerships, and storytelling: - Creating and executing a strategy to recruit, appreciate, and retain volunteers and interns - Building and maintaining a story log of content for social media and recruitment use - Joining staff and volunteers participating at The Landing and other volunteer centric programs - Improving system for in-kind donations to various programs and fundraisers - Assisting with grant writing and reporting and creating a grants calendar If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out!
